Michael Decauni, President & CEO
The founder of the Callian Capital Group, Michael Decauni, is known particularly for his problem-solving and mediation abilities. Mr. Decauni is sought when high level business issues require timely, innovative solutions, naturally including those of the Callian Family Office and its ultra high net worth clients throughout North America, Europe, Asia and the Gulf Countries.
He is also actively engaged in providing general corporate advice to Canadian and international companies doing business in the Middle East. After many years in the region, Michael has extensive cross-cultural experience and is able to reach across the private and public sectors, as well as international borders, to make connections for his clients, introducing them to unique opportunities around the world.
Throughout his career, both as a professional and then as an entrepreneur, he has been involved in large transactions with numerous prominent banks, insurance companies and other financial institutions. Michael has been able to attain a notable degree of success, translating into high rates of return for his clients and shareholders, as well as significant growth for his own enterprises.
Michael holds a Business degree from York University, is an active participant in the Canadian political and Not-For-Profit sectors, and is an avid supporter of various Canadian and international charitable causes.
Dr. Amr Attar, CIO & Executive Board Member
Dr. Amr Attar is a managing partner of Callian Capital, CEO of Capital Advisory Group and founder of Amr Attar Corporation, a diverse Saudi-based trading and investment company.
As the son of H.E Dr. Abdulwahab Attar, former Minister of planning and economics and Ambassador to the United Nations in Geneva, Amr Attar was destined for success. Commencing his higher education in the UK, he earned his BSc in Economics at Nottingham University and an MSc in Finance at CASS Business School of City University, finally graduating with a PhD in Finance and Strategic Management at Brunel University. He subsequently became an advisor to the board of London-based Plurimi Capital and later to JAR Capital, where he assisted in the establishment of their Asset Management division, including alternative asset-backed structures for real estate and aviation funds, among others.
Upon his return to Saudi Arabia, Dr. Attar began directing family investments and working with Egypt’s Suez Canal Authority on various mega-infrastructure projects, in addition to managing a portfolio of real estate investments located in Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Spain, France and Switzerland.
Now leading Capital Advisory Group, Dr. Attar manages investments primarily in the sectors of Pharmaceuticals, Technology, Real Estate, Food & Beverage distribution and Oil & Gas.
Khalid Khashogji, CBO & Executive Board Member
After completing his major in Business Administration in the United States, Mr. Khashogji returned to embark on a highly successful career across a number of industries in Saudi Arabia, joining the management team at Albahiah Tourism, Albahiah Feedstock & Butcheries, and Albahiah Trading.
Mr. Khashogji is also a Board member for Public & Government Relations for Sakab Vision, as well as a member of both the Saudi-British and Saudi-French business councils, as associated with the Saudi Councils of Chamber of Commerce.
He has also served as Global Real Estate Investment and Development executive at the Madinah Development & Investment Co.
Mr. Khashogji graduated from Texas Christian University with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration.
Memet M. Korkmaz, Managing Partner, Turkey
Based in Istanbul, Turkey, Memet is a Managing Partner of Callian Capital. He previously contributed his talents to several notable firms.
Drawing upon his close associations with numerous senior internationalists, he advises political entities and multinational corporations on market access, investment issues and government relations across the region.
Memet’s business experience covers M&As, Joint Ventures and IPO transactions in Turkey, the Middle East, and Africa, with a total value of more than US$2 billion. Sectors range from Energy, Mineral Resources, and Security Technology, to Real Estate, Aerospace & Defence, IT, and Communication Technology.
Memet earned his BA in International Business and Management from Inholland University and later an MBA from Rotterdam School of Management at Erasmus University.
